A gun compliance audit for Colorado citizens is a review of an individual’s firearm ownership and practices to ensure they comply with Colorado state and federal gun laws.

It typically covers lawful acquisition and transfers (including background checks), waiting-period requirements, magazine-capacity limits, safe storage obligations—especially around minors—carry and transport rules, and restrictions on prohibited firearms or accessories.

The purpose is to help individuals understand their legal responsibilities and reduce the risk of unintentional violations.

A gun disposal service for Colorado citizens provides a safe, lawful way for individuals to permanently surrender or destroy firearms they no longer want or can legally possess.

The service typically handles secure collection, transport, and destruction or transfer through authorized channels, ensuring compliance with Colorado and federal laws while prioritizing safety and confidentiality.

A gun appraisal service for Colorado citizens provides a professional evaluation of a firearm’s value based on factors such as make, model, condition, age, historical significance, and current market demand.

The appraisal is typically used for sales, insurance, estate planning, or legal purposes and is conducted in compliance with Colorado and federal firearm laws.

Front Range Firearm Services will help you sell guns in Colorado, with legal guidance and expert firearm collection appraisals. We come to you and appraise a single gun or an entire collection of any size.

An Ammunition Audit is an in-home inspection by Front Range Firearm Services focused on safety, storage, and legal compliance.

We verify that each firearm is matched with the correct ammunition to prevent dangerous malfunctions caused by similar-sized rounds, inspect ammunition for corrosion or damage that could lead to squib loads or catastrophic firearm failure.

We ensure ammunition is stored properly in appropriate containers and locations to reduce moisture, heat, and child access, and confirm all ammunition is legal in Colorado—removing and surrendering any prohibited rounds, such as armor-piercing, incendiary, tracer, or exploding ammunition, to the Sheriff’s Department for destruction.

Private Party Transfers must be completed in person by both parties at a Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) dealer and are required by law for any sale, gift, or loan of a firearm.

The buyer must present valid ID, proof of residence, a Handgun Safety Certificate, pass a Colorado DOJ background check, and complete a mandatory waiting period, with typical fees of $35.

These transfers cannot be done in-home. For inherited or legally obtained firearms, Front Range Firearm Services can assist with voluntary registration through the DOJ.

As a licensed FFL, FRFS can also lawfully take possession of firearms without a transfer when they are being destroyed or transferred to a subsequent owner.
